Fine jewelry is made to be worn, not kept in a box. A few simple habits will keep your pieces looking the way they did the day they arrived.
Last on, first off
Put your jewelry on after lotions, perfume and hairspray have dried, and take it off before you exercise, clean, or go to bed. Cosmetics and sweat are the most common reasons gold loses its shine.
A simple cleaning routine
- Every 2–4 weeks: a light clean at home with warm water, mild soap and a soft cloth for pieces you wear daily.
- Every 3–6 months: a more thorough clean for rings, bracelets and anything exposed to lotions, perfume or sweat.
- Once or twice a year: a professional clean and inspection by a jeweler, especially for stone-set pieces.
Always dry your jewelry completely before putting it away.
Water: when to take it off
Our 18k gold pieces are water-resistant and made for everyday wear, but chlorine and saltwater can damage metal over time. Remove your jewelry before swimming, and ideally before showering, too.
Storing your pieces
Keep jewelry in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Store each piece separately — chains tangle and stones can scratch softer metals — and use airtight bags or anti-tarnish strips to reduce exposure to air and humidity.
Travelling
A travel case with separate compartments keeps every piece safe. Fasten necklace clasps before packing so chains don't knot along the way.
